The deadline to meet the updated federal underground storage tank regulations was Oct. 13, 2018. However, states with State Program Approval have the authority to set their own regulations and, as such, their deadlines may be different than the federal regulations. Additionally, several states recently released new information regarding their UST regulations. For instance:
Hawaii, Illinois, New Mexico, South Dakota and West Virginia have incorporated the federal requirements into their regulations. New Mexico will hold an informational meeting Oct. 18. Washington and Wyoming also completed updates to their regulations. Colorado announced a $10,000 incentive for completing testing early.
