Chevron USA Inc. is partnering with a California company to harvest methane from cow manure at dairy farms in select counties in the state.
The oil company is helping to fund 18 dairy biogas digesters. It is also helping to find a market for the biomethane in California, where adoption of digester technologies has been slow.
Biomethane is a viable fuel for trucks, buses and other heavy-duty equipment. The initiative helps Chevron meet California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard.
